About Me
Thanks for dropping by my site and reading my random musings. Here’s some random useless information about myself..
First the serious stuff. I’m currently the Director of <something> Engineering at Language Weaver, Inc (LW) based in Marina del Rey. Language Weaver is a human communications solutions company and a pioneer in the automated language translations space. My current role at LW is to oversee the Internet side of the business from an engineering standpoint. This includes the new Translation on Demand service as well as other upcoming web initiatives.
Before Language Weaver, I spent roughly five years at DoubleClick Inc, headquartered in New York City (yes before the Google days and during the pre and post dot com days). While at DCLK, I was part of the DART AdServer team – responsible for the Pusher application. Pusher is best described as a data aggregation and distribution process – responsible for distributing all of the ad/site information from DCLK’s production DBs to all of the adservers around the world.
And finally, before that, I worked for a couple of years at Intel Corporation where I was a part of the Rotation Engineers Program (REP), and then the Graphics Components Division (back when Intel had aspirations of developing discrete graphics for PCs).
From an educational perspective, I have my Bachelor of Science and Master of Engineering degrees in Computer Science from Cornell University (BS – class of ‘96 and M.Eng – class of ‘97).
In my off hours, you can find me doing all sorts of things ranging from running to playing volleyball, softball, and video games. One of my largest off hour time sinks would have to be Krunker Media – my blogging business that I started building up back in 2004. I actually began writing online back in 2001 when I created WhiningDog.NET (which is still up but not maintained). In 2004, I launched my first blog called Krunker.com with an emphasis on technology and gadgets. Since then I’ve launched a few more blogs such as KrunkerHD.com, ZuneSphere.com, and more recently, NetbookTech.com. Yes as you can see, I love writing.. (though I never said I was particularly good at it!).
Other passions in my life – cooking, software development, did I say video games? (I did, didn’t I?), watching TV/movies, and collecting digital STUFF. If you need to reach me, just hit me up at flungster ‘at’ gmail.com.
See ya,
Felix
