On the road..

It’s been some time since I last blogged on here so I thought I would provide a quick update on things. Yvonne and I have been pushing ahead with our wedding planning and things are quickly coming together. The biggest thing to tackle right now is the invites and probably the photographer.

I’m actually currently on the road right now over at Hawthorne, NY where I am visiting one of IBM’s research facilities. One of the things that really stand out when visiting IBM is - how nearly everyone walks around with a ThinkPad in their hands. In fact, the ThinkPad laptop is very much a part of every researcher’s life out here. I think that’s a testament to the ThinkPad and also to the nature of wireless networking now. Your world is not confined to your cubicle or office anymore but you can literally go anywhere where there is a network.

Let’s see, I finally got my car back over the weekend. Long story there which I will detail in a separate entry but things seem to be working.. EXCEPT my left side speakers are now slowly going out. The service technician claims it’s the Bose CD player but I have to wonder whether that really is true. Can Bose really suck that badly???

This coming weekend is full of Poker parties and a Halloween party at June and Phils. Should be lots of fun though it’ll be busy for sure. Stay tuned for pics!

Oh yeah, I found out that JFK now has their AirTrain system working - much to my surprise. I felt like such a tourist trying to figure out how to get from the jetBlue terminal to the rental car agencies using the AirTrain. I’ll post some pics of the AirTrain system that I took using my camera later on.

One more training session here at IBM and I’m off back to NYC.
