Vacation time

It’s been some time since I’ve written on my blog and the reason is - I’m on vacation right now! Yvonne and I left for NYC last Friday evening and are now in Toronto. We took Northwest Airlines Friday night and got into LGA Saturday morning (luckily without much fuss too!). The schedule thus far?

Sat (8/27):
Had Dim Sum with my mom in Flushing - somewhat disappointed with the food quality. Took a nap and then headed over to Manhattan to have dinner with Nobu and Julie at Yama on Houstons. Food was good and it was followed by some poker over at Soo’s parent’s place on the upper east side.

Sun (8/28):
Yvonne and I headed to Redeemer Church at 10:30 am - we ended up 30 minutes late unfortunately due to the lack of parking and then we ended up at the Madison Ave. street fair which was pretty cool to see. This was followed by a trip out to the North Shore Animal League where we got a chance to play with dogs and puppies. Finally we took a trip to Whole Foods and picked up some food to make dinner for my mom. Afterwards, the night ended with us watching the lame VMA awards show

Mon (8/29):
I think we spent the entire day walking from the village up to Times Square. This was followed by us taking the 7 train out to flushing to have dinner with Nobu, John, Ava, Chris, and Tong. We had a pretty darn good (and cheap!) Korean BBQ dinner on Northern Blvd. YUM. We then headed over to John’s place where we played about 80 hands of Big 2 and watched Sin City. Yvonne and I both lost to Tong. Darn.

Tue (8/30):
Went into the city to do some shopping and then went back home to hang out and back for our trip up north.

Wed (8/31):
Got up at 9am and headed out to Cornell University. We stopped over at Crossing Premium Outlets in PA where we shopped for around 3 hours. My goodness it was a long time AND we got a lot of new clothes for DIRT CHEAP prices. Afterwards, we headed up to Cornell in the harsh leftover rain of Katrina which was now a simple storm. We didn’t get into Cornell until 6:30 or so. I got a chance to stay in the Statler hotel and after we checked in, we took a tour of the campus. We walked from Central campus to North campus to Bebee lake to college town. Had dinner in a Japanese restaurant in Collegetown and then headed back to Willard Straight Hall to watch “CRASH”.

Thu (9/1):
Got up at 10am, checked out and then went clothes shopping at the Campus store and in Collegetown. We then headed up to Taughannock Falls located in Ulysses NY which is about 20 minutes from Ithaca. AWESOME FALLS - they’re about 215 feet high which is some of the tallest east of the Rocky Mountains. Afterwards we went over to the Seneca vineyards and picked up a bunch of wine bottles from two different vineyards. Finally we got onto Highway 90 and headed over to Toronto.. and HERE WE ARE finally.

Now… onto the Labor Day weekend and lots of vball!
